Hold onto your umbrellas, folks! A HEAVY RAIN WARNING is still in effect across the entire Fiji group. That’s right, the rain has decided it likes Fiji so much, it’s overstaying its welcome!

Additionally, if you’re near the coastal areas of the eastern and southern parts of Viti Levu—from Sigatoka to Coral Coast, all the way to Rakiraki—you’ve also earned yourself a STRONG WIND WARNING. So, if you were planning on a nice day at the beach, you might want to rethink that and keep both feet firmly on the ground.

Here’s the lowdown: A trough of low pressure has moved in and it’s bringing along a cloud party with rain that will be hanging around until Sunday.

Forecast until midnight tomorrow for the Fiji group:
Prepare for some breezy conditions with strong east to northeast winds reaching up to 46 km/hr. This is definitely not the day for picnics on the beach—unless you intend to practice your ‘fly a kite’ skills! Rough seas are expected as well, so save the snorkeling for another day.

In most other places, expect moderate to fresh east to northeast winds. As far as seas go, they’ll be delightful for anyone trying to surf—moderate to rough conditions are the order of the day.

Now, don’t forget to check your raincoats! We’re expecting occasional showers, some of them heavy, and a few thunderstorms might join the fun. And don’t get too comfortable, because isolated heavy downpours could cause a bit of splashing in low lying or flood-prone regions.

Looking ahead to Monday: We’ll have some showers over Navua, Suva, Nausori, and several provinces. Isolated heavy falls could strike in the afternoon or evening, just to keep things exciting. Elsewhere, cloud cover with a chance of afternoon or evening showers will be a popular choice. Winds will remain moderate to fresh from the north to southeast, with seas continuing to be moderately rough.

Specific area forecasts:

For Navua / Suva / Nausori: Expect occasional rain, heavy at times, with a cameo from a few thunderstorms.
Outlook for Monday: Some showers are on the horizon.

For Sigatoka/Coral Coast: Occasional rain and heavy moments are likely, topped off with some thunder.
Outlook for Monday: Cloudy skies with possible afternoon showers.

For Nadi / Lautoka / Ba: Once again, prepare for occasional rain, with heavy spells and a few thunderous surprises.
Outlook for Monday: Similar cloudy vibes with potential afternoon showers.

Regional snippets:
– Tavua/Rakiraki: Rain galore with a few thunderstorms. Monday forecast: Just what you expected—more showers!
– Yasawa/Mamanuca: Heavy rain holds the spotlight, followed by those isolated showers in the afternoon.
– Labasa / Savusavu: More of the same, with occasional heavy rain and probably a few visits from thunderstorms.
– And for Rotuma – you guessed it, occasional heavy rain and new wind directions shaking things up!

So grab those rain boots, prepare for potential rain dances, and let’s weather this storm together!
