A trough of low pressure and a moist easterly wind flow will keep much of Fiji unsettled over the next 24 to 48 hours. The eastern and northern islands are most likely to see frequent showers and isolated thunderstorms, while the western and interior areas generally remain fine apart from afternoon or evening showers.
Occasional showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected over the eastern and interior parts of Viti Levu — including Ra‑Rakiraki, Tailevu North, Naitasiri, Navua‑Suva‑Nausori and Serua‑Namosi — and across the Lau and Lomaiviti groups, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands. Yasawa and Mamanuca, Taveuni and nearby isles, and parts of Southern Bua and Cakaudrove will experience cloudy periods with some showers, isolated thunderstorms and the potential for heavy rain. Elsewhere conditions will be mainly fine with the chance of afternoon or evening showers and isolated thunderstorms.
There is a risk of isolated heavy falls in the affected areas. Localised heavy downpours may lead to flash flooding of low‑lying and flood‑prone locations, so residents in vulnerable spots should stay alert. Winds will be moderate to fresh from the east, and seas are expected to be moderate to rough, making caution advisable for small craft and coastal activities.
Local outlooks: Navua, Suva and Nausori can expect occasional showers and isolated thunderstorms with temperatures near 23 to 30°C, and a similar outlook into Friday with the chance of heavy falls. Nadi, Lautoka and Ba, as well as Tavua and Rakiraki, will be mainly fine apart from afternoon or evening showers and thunderstorms; daytime highs around 32–33°C and slightly cooler on Friday. Sigatoka and the Coral Coast should see mostly fine conditions apart from afternoon or evening storms, with highs near 32°C. Labasa, Savusavu, Nabouwalu and Taveuni will have cloudy periods or fine spells with showers and isolated thunderstorms and daytime temperatures mostly in the low 30s.
Rotuma remains under a weak trough with cloudy periods and some showers, isolated thunderstorms, moderate to fresh easterly winds and moderate to rough seas. Temperatures there are expected around 24 to 32°C, with a similar pattern continuing into Friday.
