Namosi High Chief Ratu Suliano Matanitobua, a former player for Navua FC and currently serving as Vice Chair of the Great Council of Chiefs, has been an influential presence for the Navua football team as they prepare for upcoming matches in the Extra Premier League. His engagement over the past two weeks has provided a significant morale boost to the squad.

Coach Saiyad Ali reported that Chief Matanitobua has been actively visiting the players during their training sessions, offering support and encouragement. “He has been coming to the camp and the training grounds, which really boosted the morale of the team and the players. His commitment is clear, considering his long-standing history with Navua,” Ali remarked.

Although recent adverse weather conditions posed challenges to the team’s practice routines, Ali emphasized that excuses regarding performance are not acceptable. The Navua team has faced setbacks in the league with unexpected losses, particularly when key players were absent due to suspensions. However, a positive turning point appears to be on the horizon, as vital defenders Kolinio Sivoki and Vinal Prasad have returned after serving suspensions.

With a full squad now available, Ali expressed hope for success in upcoming matches, focusing on the tournament ahead with renewed determination and a strong lineup. This optimistic outlook reflects Navua’s resilient spirit and desire to succeed, combined with the community’s support, including backing from notable former players and local leaders.

As the team gears up for their next challenges, followers of Navua FC are excitedly anticipating a return to form, reminiscent of their earlier performances which have highlighted their potential as strong contenders in the league. This spirit of hope and camaraderie could make for an invigorating season ahead.
