Weather Update

Greetings from the National Weather Forecasting Centre in Nadi! As of 7:30 PM on this delightful Tuesday, February 17, 2026, here’s what Mother Nature has in store for the fabulous archipelago of Fiji.

Expect a mostly sunny paradise, perfect for outdoor activities—sans any interruptions from the heavens for the most part! However, as the clock ticks toward the afternoon and evening, keep your umbrellas handy because we might have a few showers, and possibly even some thunderstorm shenanigans, particularly over Sigatoka-Korolevu, Serua-Namosi, Navua-Suva-Nausori, Tailevu-Naitasiri, southern Bua, and Cakaudrove. So, if you hear some rumblings in the distance, it’s either dinner time for the thunder god or a warning to duck and cover!

For the rest of the gang, it’s mainly fine and dandy. We’re looking at moderate breezes from the northeast to northwest, perfect for a little hair-flipping on the beach, and seas that might be just a tad bumpy—good enough for a thrill but not enough to rock the boat too much!

Thursday’s forecast promises to be much like a well-rehearsed encore, with mainly fine weather across most regions, except for those isolated afternoons and evenings that come with the potential for some electrifying thunderstorms over Viti Levu and Vanua Levu. Just keep your radar on! Expect moderate winds shifting to southeasterlies later in the day, and moderate seas that might just remind you of a gentle roller coaster ride.

Let’s break it down by your favorite hot spots:

Navua/Suva/Nausori: Evening showers and thunderstorms are on the guest list, so bring the raincoat. Min: 25, Max: 33.
Natadradave/Korovou: Showers will crash the party later in the day, so stay alert! Min: 25, Max: 33.
Sigatoka/Coral Coast: Same story here—sunshine with a side of storm, just to keep things exciting. Min: 25, Max: 33.
Nadi/Lautoka/Ba: Mainly fine, so you can let your hair down. Min: 25, Max: 33.
Tavua/Rakiraki: Mostly fine, with the potential for rambunctious weather later on. Min: 25, Max: 33.
Yasawa/Mamanuca group: Let’s bask under the sun! Min: 25, Max: 32.
Labasa: Mainly fine and dandy! Min: 25, Max: 33.
Savusavu: Heavy showers may want to crash your picnic. Min: 25, Max: 33.
Nabouwalu: Thunderstorm alert in the afternoon! Keep your shoes on! Min: 25, Max: 33.
Taveuni: It’s sunshine galore! Min: 25, Max: 33.
Lau and Lomaiviti group: You’re in for a treat with mainly fine weather! Min: 25, Max: 31.
Kadavu: Sunshine is the star of the show here! Min: 25, Max: 32.
Rotuma: The northeast winds are serving up cloud and brief showers. Min: 25, Max: 31.

On Thursday, we’ll see more of this sensible weather with just minor interruptions from showers here and there. So buckle up and prepare for a pleasantly predictable ride through the climate waves of Fiji—just don’t forget your sunblock and umbrellas, folks!
