The Fiji Roads Authority (FRA) has announced that the Wainibau Bridge on Baulevu Road will be temporarily closed for essential repairs this weekend. The closure is set to begin at 8:00 PM on Saturday, February 14, and will last until 5:00 AM on Sunday, February 15, 2025.
During this time, the bridge will receive a full deck replacement along with other maintenance work. Motorists are encouraged to plan their routes accordingly to avoid inconvenience.
To assist the public during the closure, a vehicle will be stationed at the Nausori end of the bridge for emergency situations. The FRA also emphasized that the planned repair works may be postponed depending on weather conditions, prioritizing safety and effective execution.
In light of the upgrades, FRA has urged the community to exercise patience and cooperation as these necessary improvements are carried out. This commitment to infrastructure development aims to enhance road safety and travel efficiency for all users.
