The 2026 Women Invigorating the Nation (WIN) Convention has officially launched its registration, marking an exciting advancement for women’s empowerment and leadership in Fiji. This significant event underscores the vital contributions women make to shaping the future of the nation.
Eldon Eastgate, President of the Fiji Commerce and Employers Federation, addressed the audience, highlighting the transformative role women play in driving change throughout Fiji. He acknowledged that while many women are already taking leadership roles, numerous challenges continue to hinder their progress and limit their opportunities.
“The WIN Convention serves as a pivotal platform for women to enhance their skills, foster connections, and establish partnerships that could lead to greater advancements and success,” Eastgate stated. He stressed that empowering women is not merely a moral imperative but also a key factor in Fiji’s economic advancement. By providing women with access to essential skills, resources, and leadership opportunities, they can create businesses, stimulate innovation, and strengthen the overall workforce.
Eastgate expressed appreciation for the WIN team, as well as the partners, sponsors, and supporters whose efforts have made this convention a reality. The two-day event will delve into critical topics such as policymaking, leadership, access to capital, the influence of artificial intelligence, financial innovation, and gender-responsive climate action.
As the event commences, Eastgate encourages all stakeholders to commit to investing in women in meaningful, deliberate, and sustainable ways. This year’s theme, “Give to Gain: Investing in Women Transforms Our Future,” encapsulates the hopeful vision of the convention, aiming to inspire actionable change that benefits not only women but society as a whole. By fostering an environment where women can thrive, the future looks brighter for all of Fiji.
