Nadroga’s senior men’s rugby team is set to star in a new television series that will highlight their preparations leading up to next year’s Skipper Cup competition. Titled “House of Rugby,” the series is being produced by the local company New Fossil Productions.

Blair Robertson, the director and co-producer, expressed that the series will provide an inside look at the dedication and effort the team invests to compete in one of the nation’s top rugby tournaments. Nadroga was selected for the series due to its rich history and impressive legacy in the Skipper Cup.

“We’re still taking advice on this and the overall structure of the show, but we have a blueprint and come next year’s Skipper Cup, we’ll be ready to start filming. And we will be filming as early as next week,” Robertson stated.

Robertson, a well-known filmmaker and novelist, has deep roots in both the local community and rugby. Raised in Fiji, he currently resides in Naboutini, Serua, where his production company is located. His passion for rugby runs in the family; his father once played for and coached Suva in the 1970s, while Robertson himself has played at various levels, including stints in New Zealand and the UK.

This initiative not only showcases the dedication of the Nadroga rugby team but also highlights the local culture and passion for the sport, promising an inspiring glimpse into the world of rugby in Fiji.
