A woman and three men have been charged in connection with an alleged kidnapping case involving a 20-year-old woman in Lautoka. The incident reportedly occurred on February 25, 2026, when the group is accused of forcefully removing the victim from her home in Saweni after a dispute.
According to police reports, the first accused, a 25-year-old woman from Saweni, allegedly forced the victim into her vehicle. During the incident, the three male accomplices, aged 44, 28, and 24, are said to have assaulted a relative of the victim who intervened. Fortunately, the victim managed to escape by jumping out of the moving vehicle, resulting in injuries.
The 25-year-old woman faces multiple charges, including kidnapping, property damage, and an act intended to cause grievous harm. Her three accomplices have been charged with kidnapping, assault causing actual bodily harm, and criminal intimidation.
All four individuals are scheduled to appear before the Lautoka Magistrates Court on March 2, 2026. This incident highlights serious concerns regarding public safety and the importance of community awareness in preventing such violent acts. Efforts need to be made not only to bring justice but also to ensure greater awareness and protective measures for individuals in vulnerable situations.
