Join the Action: Last Chance to Register for the R.C. Manubhai Nataleira Sevens!

The director of the R.C. Manubhai Nataleira Sevens tournament, Solo Finau, announced that there are still openings for teams wishing to participate. With the registration deadline looming tomorrow, Finau confirmed that currently, 12 teams have registered for the Tier One category, though they are hoping to reach a total of 16 teams. If they don’t reach this number by week’s end, registration will close with 12 teams.

For Tier Two, which consists of regular sevens teams, Finau mentioned there are already 16 registrations. Once the remaining teams confirm their paid fees of $300, the registration will be finalized. In the women’s category (Tier Three), six teams have been confirmed, with the expectation of reaching eight by the registration deadline. Similarly, for Tier Four, which caters to Under-19 teams, eight teams have signed up, but the target remains at 16 confirmed teams with a fee of $100 per team. Age verification will be conducted using Voter Registration ID cards.

Finau highlighted that the tournament aims to raise $30,000, a crucial sum needed for the completion of the Nataleira Methodist Church building, which has suffered damage from Cyclone Winston and Cyclone Harold.

In terms of ticket prices, they are set at $2 for children under 12 and $5 for adults on Thursday and Friday, escalating to $2 for children and $7 for adults on Saturday.

The rousing community spirit surrounding the tournament, aimed at rebuilding after devastating cyclones, speaks volumes about resilience and support. This event not only fosters sportsmanship but also spotlight the collective effort to restore and revitalize community infrastructure.

The urgency of team registration reinforces the growing anticipation for the event, promising excitement and camaraderie among participants and spectators alike.
