Fiji is experiencing a surge in tourism this month, welcoming over 1,000 visitors thanks to the arrival of luxury cruise ships such as Seabourn Quest and Crystal Serenity. According to ship agent Transam, the Seabourn Quest made a stop at Dravuni Island, while Crystal Serenity docked at multiple locations, including Savusavu, Lautoka, and Suva.
The Seabourn Quest brought aboard 442 passengers and 504 crew members, whereas Crystal Serenity had 578 passengers and 346 crew members during its stay in Fiji. Notably, Crystal Serenity, measuring an impressive 250 meters in length with a gross tonnage of 68,870, visited Savusavu on February 1, followed by Lautoka on February 8, and Suva on February 9.
In addition to these two vessels, a number of other cruise ships are also scheduled to visit Fiji this month. According to Transam’s itinerary, upcoming ships include Coral Princess, which will visit Suva and Dravuni; Amera, set to call at Dravuni and Lautoka; MSC Magnifica docked in Suva; Le Soleal also visiting Lautoka; and Carnival Luminosa making its way to Denarau.
Fiji Ports Terminal Limited reported that a total of 66 vessel visits are anticipated throughout February, with the Port of Suva expecting 40 visits and the Port of Lautoka tallying 26. In Suva, there will be several types of vessels, including 20 container ships, seven cruise liners, two tankers, and various cargo vessels among others.
The busy schedule will also see multiple cruise liners such as Seabourn Sojourn, Disney Wonder, Coral Princess, MSC Magnifica, and the Seven Seas Navigator, which is set to visit twice. Noteworthy is the Yushin Maru 3 from Japan, scheduled to arrive in Suva on February 19.
Fiji’s vibrant port activity showcases the nation’s growing appeal as a cruise destination, highlighting its beautiful islands and rich culture. This influx of cruise visitors promises not only to boost local economies but also to solidify Fiji’s status as a premier holiday destination in the South Pacific.
