The Golf Fiji Teams Championship concluded over the weekend, showcasing vibrant competition and camaraderie at the Nadi Airport Golf Club. The tournament attracted 84 participants from various clubs nationwide, emphasizing the unity and passion for golf in Fiji.

Organizers expressed gratitude to the club’s executives, members, and ground staff for their exceptional efforts in maintaining the course, which contributed to a smooth and competitive event.

In the premier A Grade category, Fiji Golf Club emerged victorious with a score of 241, narrowly defeating Ba Golf Club, which finished with a score of 242. Labasa Golf Club secured third place with 250, followed closely by Natadola Golf Club (254), Nadi Golf Club (258), and Lautoka Golf Club (260).

Fiji Golf Club also demonstrated its prowess in B Grade, finishing first with a total of 262. Nadi Golf Club followed in second place with 269, while Labasa Golf Club (278), Ba Golf Club (281), Lautoka Golf Club (287), and Natadola Golf Club (306) rounded out the standings.

In the C Grade competition, Ba Golf Club took the top position with a score of 300, while Nadi Golf Club finished just behind at 305. Labasa Golf Club and Fiji Golf Club shared third place with 312, followed by Lautoka Golf Club.

Fiji Golf Club also excelled in the Ladies and Juniors division, achieving a score of 294, while Nadi Airport Golf Club came in second with 305 and Ba Golf Club secured third place. In a commendable gesture, all junior golfers received individual trophies, reflecting the importance of fostering young talent in the sport.

As part of their commitment to the community, Golf Fiji provided lunch and green fees for participants and offered travelling allowances to the clubs. The organization hailed the championship as a resounding success, with a strong turnout that underscores the growing enthusiasm for golf in Fiji. This event not only highlights competitive spirit but also celebrates the future of the game through its youth programs, fostering hope and excitement for the sport’s continued development in the region.
