The 2026 Classic Buses Limited FANCA Nations World Cup has been officially announced, heralding one of the most anticipated sporting events for the Islamic community. This year, the tournament expects to welcome over 1,000 participants from five nations for a week-long celebration of sport, culture, and community spirit.

Set to take place from August 23rd to 30th, the matches will be hosted at King Charles Park in Nadi and the Nadi Muslim College Events and Sports Centre. The event will showcase a variety of competitions, including soccer, netball, and volleyball, catering to both men and women across different age groups—Legends, Masters, Veterans, and youth divisions.

Soccer competitions will be held at King Charles Park, while netball and volleyball matches are scheduled for the Nadi Muslim College facilities. Javed Ahmed, President of the Fiji Muslim Sports Association, emphasized that the tournament transcends the realm of sports; it serves as a platform for the Fijian diaspora to reconnect with their roots and strengthen ties with family and friends.

Ahmed elaborated on the significance of the event, stating, “The Nations World Cup offers a unique opportunity for all our brothers and sisters who have migrated overseas—to Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and America—for a better life. It allows them to return and reconnect with their families and the broader community in Fiji.”

The tournament is dedicated not just to sporting excellence but also to community welfare. It will incorporate various charitable initiatives, emphasizing the importance of making a positive impact. “We are committed to ensuring the event delivers meaningful impact beyond sports,” Ahmed noted, sharing that a portion of the gate revenues will support charitable projects, underscoring the event’s long-standing tradition of giving back.

In addition to the competitive events, a family-friendly atmosphere will prevail throughout the tournament, featuring festive activities that encourage children’s participation, ensuring a fun and engaging week for visitors of all ages.

The 2026 FANCA Nations World Cup is poised to be the largest and most inclusive event of its kind, merging competitive sports with cultural festivities and promoting community unity. As the preparations unfold, anticipation builds for an inspiring celebration that highlights the resilience and togetherness within the Islamic community.
