A Heartfelt Tribute: Graduating with Gold in Honor of a Father’s Legacy

Moiza Chaudhary recently honored his late father during a poignant moment on stage as he received a gold medal for his postgraduate diploma in education. Following the passing of his father, who underwent heart surgery in India just months earlier, Chaudhary reflected on the profound impact his father had on his educational journey.

“I miss him a lot now more than ever,” Chaudhary shared, acknowledging that his success was largely due to the unwavering support his father provided throughout his studies. “This biggest success of mine was definitely because of him; he would stay up all night with me helping me with my research work.”

Balancing the demands of his dual roles as a primary school teacher and a father to his two young children, Chaudhary described his journey as exhausting yet rewarding. “Whenever I would see pictures of my colleagues who graduated before me, I’d feel motivated to get back up, gather myself, and keep moving,” he said.

Chaudhary was joined by fellow gold medal recipients at the graduation, including Prashnil Prashant Dass, Rusieli Lewatokica, Ratu Sikeli Ronald Sebastian Vakalutukali, and Shirleen Sofia Ali, who received their respective certificates in various fields. In total, 1,694 students celebrated their academic achievements during the recent graduation ceremonies at Fiji National University.

Chaudhary’s story embodies resilience and the importance of support in achieving one’s goals, reminding us all that adversity can fuel strength and determination. His commitment to his family, career, and personal growth serves as an inspiring example for others navigating similar challenges in pursuit of their dreams.
