Students at Kulukulu Public School in Sigatoka had the unique opportunity to experience American culture through a Flag Football clinic hosted by a team from the National Football League (NFL) Australia. The event attracted students from Years 1 to 8, who eagerly participated in an engaging session designed to teach them the fundamentals of the sport.
As laughter and excitement filled the air, the atmosphere buzzed with a competitive spirit as the young learners embraced this new sporting experience. Principal Manoj Ram expressed his gratitude for the initiative, noting that out of many schools, Kulukulu was chosen to introduce NFL Flag Football. “We are very fortunate and appreciate what has been done here at Kulukulu Public School,” he said.
Ram highlighted the talent of the students, suggesting that some may even possess the potential to excel as international players in the sport. He remarked, “Maybe if it is a blessing from God, a few of them might become international players in this sport, so I think this clinic is a blessing in disguise for my school.”
Throughout the clinic, students engaged in various drills aimed at building their skills and understanding of Flag Football. As a token of appreciation for their participation, each student received water bottles and pencil cases at the end of the session, further enhancing the memorable experience.
This event not only introduced a new sport to the students but also fostered a sense of community and enthusiasm for physical activity, paving the way for future opportunities in diverse sports. With the support of initiatives like this, schools can look forward to nurturing talents that may shine on both local and international stages.
