Taveuni, known as the Garden Island of Fiji, has celebrated a notable achievement this Christmas as it has successfully completed its first smart farming harvest. This accomplishment comes from Ranjila Wati and her family, who partnered with Go Global Agriculture Tech Solutions to introduce an integrated hydroponics and solar-powered farming system in their environmentally friendly farming area.

This innovative project showcases how sustainable technology can significantly boost food production while minimizing environmental impact. It was made possible through the Climate Action of Fiji (CAF) program, which is funded by the European Union in the Pacific and executed in collaboration with NatureFiji-Mareqeti Viti. The initiative is part of broader national and regional efforts aimed at enhancing climate resilience, fostering sustainable agriculture, and supporting rural livelihoods across Fiji.

Ranjila Wati, alongside her partner Jaysheel, expressed their joy and pride in achieving their first harvest during the festive season. They are looking forward to focusing on further investments and scaling up production by 2026. Their goal is to contribute meaningfully to Fiji’s GDP while tackling the challenges posed by climate change.

Go Global Agri-Tech Solutions is committed to promoting climate-smart agricultural practices throughout Fiji, empowering local families and communities with practical, sustainable, and technology-driven farming solutions. This harvest not only marks a significant milestone for the Wati family but also serves as a hopeful example of how technology and sustainability can play vital roles in the future of agriculture in the region.
