Weather Update
Brought to you by the National Weather Forecasting Centre in Nadi at 5:30 am on Wednesday, February 11, 2026

Attention, weather enthusiasts and rain dodgers! A mischievous little trough of low pressure has decided to throw a party in the eastern parts of our beautiful islands, dragging along its cloud and shower buddies. This weather system is feeling generous and will be spreading the good vibes, or showers, throughout the rest of us over the next few days.

Now, let’s break down what today’s forecast has in store for the Fiji group:

Prepare for a splash fiesta with occasional showers and the possibility of some thrilling, isolated thunderstorms. If you’re in the eastern regions of Viti Levu—think Greater Suva/Nausori-Tailevu North, Interior Ra, Naitasiri & Serua-Namosi, and a few more—we recommend an umbrella and maybe a raincoat. No one wants to be caught in a downpour looking like a drenched cat!

For the rest of the islands, expect a partly cloudy sky with the chance of afternoon or evening showers and some thrilling thunder claps. Just a heads up: localized heavy downpours might cause a little flash flooding, particularly in those low-lying areas! Add moderate to fresh northeast winds with some gusty moments during those heavy showers, and we’ve got ourselves a bit of a weather adventure.

Here’s what’s brewing for Thursday: More of those pesky occasional showers and a sprinkle of thunderstorms, particularly over Vanua Levu, Taveuni, and nearby islands. For the rest of us, expect showers to ramp up to rain as the day unfolds, so keep your rain boots near! Again, there’s a chance of heavy falls causing flash flooding. So, you might want to skip that lovely picnic by the river.

Now let’s take a look at the local forecasts:

For Navua / Suva / Nausori: Expect those occasional showers combined with isolated thunderstorms, with some heavy falls throwing a surprise or two. Min: 25, Max: 32.

Lastly, for Rotuma: This low-pressure trough isn’t pulling any punches—a mix of occasional heavy showers and some thunderstorms. The winds might be feeling fresh too! Min: 25, Max: 32.
