Fiji Weather Forecast: Cloudy with Brief Showers and Cool Nights Expected

Weather Update

Brought to you by the National Weather Forecasting Center Nadi, at 7:30 PM on this fine Monday, June 9, 2025.

Get ready, Fiji! We’ve got a mixed bag of weather headed your way. For those living in Navua, Suva-Nausori, Serua-Namosi, Naitasiri-Tailevu, Rakiraki, Cakaudrove, and Southern Bua provinces—as well as Kadavu, Lau, and the Lomaiviti groups—prepare for a bit of a cloudy show with some brief, dramatic showers trying to steal the spotlight. Meanwhile, everyone else can enjoy the glory of mainly sunny skies!

As the sun tucks itself in for the night, expect those cool temperatures to keep you company. So if you were planning on a midnight swim, you might want to reconsider unless searching for polar bear status is on your bucket list.

Winds will be moderate, swinging in from the east to southeast, and may get a bit frisky at times. And let’s not forget the seas; they might get their rough-and-tumble boots on.

Looking ahead to Wednesday: we’ll keep the forecast rolling fine for most, with just a sprinkle of brief showers over the same areas as before. Looks like some places are vying for the title of ‘Most Showers in a Day.’ Spoiler alert: it’s not a prestigious award.

For specific areas:

Navua/Suva/Nausori: Expect those overcast periods followed by brief showers. Nighttime will be cool and everything will be quiet.

Sigatoka/Coral Coast: Mainly fine and cool at night—a perfect recipe for a cozy evening.

Nadi/Lautoka/Ba: Sunshine is on the menu, followed by nights that are decidedly brisk.

Tavua/Rakiraki: You’ll experience some of the cloudy antics with brief showers, but don’t worry—places nearby will be filled with sunshine.

Natadradave/Korovou: Cloudy with brief showers entertaining us, but the cool nights will still reign.

Yasawa/Mamanuca group: Mainly fine, with cool evening temperatures.

Labasa: Just fine weather, keeping it simple and cool at night.

Savusavu: Clouds and pesky brief showers will visit, but they won’t stay too long.

Lau/Lomaiviti: Expect cloudy moments mixed with those brief showers. Yes, there is a theme here.

Kadavu: Same story—cloudy periods with brief showers, but cool nights are still on the table.

Rotuma: For our friends in Rotuma, hold on to your hats because a STRONG WIND WARNING is in effect! Moderate to fresh winds will kick in tonight, escalating to 20-25 knots tomorrow. Keep an eye out for those clouds and possible thunderstorms joining the fray.

So remember, whether you’re snuggling under a blanket or braving the elements, stay warm, stay dry, and prepare for some entertaining weather ahead!
