Weather Update: The Sky’s on a Manic Monday Kick!

Brought to you by the National Weather Forecasting Centre in Nadi, at 7:30pm on this lovely Saturday evening, June 28, 2025.

So, what’s in store for the weather over the Fiji group until the clock strikes midnight tomorrow? Drumroll, please! We’ve got a delightful mix of cloudy periods and brief showers making their rounds, particularly over the interior and southeastern coastal areas of Viti Levu (from Serua/Namosi, right through Navua to Suva and all the way up to Korovou). Kadavu and its charming little companions, along with the interior and southern parts of Vanua Levu (Southern Bua, Cakaudrove), Taveuni, and our beautiful Lau and Lomaiviti groups, will also see their share of sprinkles. Fragrant wisteria-sniffing clouds will make the rest of the region quite the sunny delight.

Don’t forget to bundle up for those cool nights – yes, cool enough to justify a cozy blanket and perhaps a cup of that questionable herbal tea you’ve been meaning to try!

Winds will be moderate, from the south to southeast, and fresh at times—ideal for any spontaneous kite-flying adventures, as long as you don’t get swept away. Seas will be moderate to a bit rough; in other words, perfect for a dramatic pirate reenactment… if you’re into that sort of thing.

As we cast our gaze towards Monday, more of the same cloudy periods with brief showers are expected in the southeastern regions, while everyone else might just want to take their sunglasses out for a pleasure stroll. Oh, and those cool nights are still hanging around, just in case you thought they’d packed their bags and left.

Here’s the down-low for the specific areas:

– Navua / Suva / Nausori: Prepare for cloudy landscapes with occasional showers and chillier nights ahead. Bring on the hot cocoa!

– Nadi / Lautoka / Ba: Ah, the sun gods are smiling down on you! Enjoy the fine weather and cool nights as though you’re a seasonal character from a beach movie.

– Coral Coast/Sigatoka, Tavua/Rakiraki, Yasawa/Mamanuca group, and Labasa: You all get the golden ticket of fine weather and cool nights—enjoy the starlit skies while you can!

– For Natadradave/Korovou: Cloudy periods with some dreamy showers—who doesn’t love a bit of atmospheric ambience?

– Savusavu, Lau and Lomaiviti group, and Kadavu: Yes, more clouds and brief showers are expected, alongside some cool nights that whisper cozy adventures.

– And last but not least, Rotuma! The island is under the influence of a low-pressure trough, so expect cloudy days sprinkled with showers and the occasional dramatic thunderstorm. Don’t forget to hold onto your hats—and your umbrellas!

As for the Monday outlook, things stay consistent with occasional showers and a mix of clouds for many islands. While you graciously await the skies’ whims, remember to keep it fun, stay dry, and never underestimate the power of a good fleece!
