Two individuals who arrived this morning aboard a shipping vessel have been taken into police custody on suspicion of possessing illegal drugs. The Fiji Police Force, along with the Fiji Dog Detector Unit (FDDU), carried out a search at Port Mua-i-Walu.

During the operation, a 39-year-old farmer was discovered to be in possession of several branches of dried leaves believed to be marijuana. Additionally, a 26-year-old unemployed man was found with similar dried leaves during the police search.

Both suspects are currently being held in custody while investigations are ongoing.

This incident highlights the continued efforts of law enforcement agencies in Fiji to combat drug trafficking and ensure community safety. The proactive measures taken by the Fiji Police Force and FDDU showcase their commitment to maintaining a drug-free environment and deterring illegal activities.
