Lima Sopoaga, a former All Blacks and Highlanders number 10, has shared valuable insights on what the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua needs to realize its potential in the upcoming Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific competition. Speaking with Times Sport in Auckland, Sopoaga emphasized that flair, energy, and hype must be matched with consistency to achieve better results on the field.

Sopoaga praised the Drua as an exciting team to watch but pointed out that to attract more fans and build a solid following, they need to translate their passion into consistent performances. “When you get good results, you get more fans coming back, and you get people wanting to be a part of something special,” he remarked.

Expressing his hopes for the Drua, Sopoaga noted their wealth of talent and the necessity of executing under pressure. He believes that with greater consistency, they can stand strong against the competition that awaits them this season.

Sopoaga highlighted the unique flair and depth that the Fijian Drua and their Pacific counterparts, Moana Pasifika, bring to the league, creating a refreshing dynamic that sets them apart. “They bring something different; that’s a different flavour,” he said, acknowledging the entertainment value they contribute despite being newer teams in the competition.

As the Fijian Drua prepares to face Moana Pasifika at Churchill Park in Lautoka this Saturday at 3:30 PM, fans are eager to see if the team can embody the balance of excitement and consistency that Sopoaga advocates for, paving the way for a promising season.
