Ashwant Rishabh Maharaj is resolute in making his final high school year memorable by participating in his second Coca Cola Games. The talented athlete, specializing in the 100 and 200 meters, previously showcased his abilities at the prestigious Fiji Finals in 2022 while representing Dilkusha Methodist High School during his freshman year.

Since that time, Maharaj has successfully qualified for every Triple N zone, although he has found it challenging to recapture the success he experienced in Year Nine. Juggling his academic responsibilities alongside his passion for football, the 18-year-old is dedicated to ensuring he gives his best effort for another appearance at the national finals.

“I’m working really hard this year. I started training last year, and I’m giving my best to compete at the Coca Cola Games since this is my final year,” Maharaj stated. He plans to compete in the 100 meters, 200 meters, and the 4×100 meters relay at the upcoming Triple N zone, buoyed by a strong performance during his school’s interhouse competition.

Maharaj expressed deep appreciation for the support he has received throughout his journey, particularly from those who have assisted him in preparing for his final interhouse event. “Today was really good. We all fought hard for our respective houses, and I want to thank the school management and our teachers for training us well,” he remarked.

As he looks forward to the Triple N zone, the determined sprinter vows to commit fully to his training regimen, aiming for what he hopes will be a triumphant second—and likely final—appearance at the Coca Cola Games before he graduates from high school. His dedication and hard work highlight the promising future ahead as he completes this significant chapter in his athletic career.
