The Water Authority of Fiji (WAF) has recently repaired and restarted the Savura Raw Water Pump Station, but unfortunately, it had to be shut down again later that same evening due to ongoing technical difficulties. This situation has led to a constrained inflow of raw water to the Tamavua Water Treatment Plant, leading to reduced water production and declining reservoir levels in various regions.

Residents in higher areas are facing challenges with low water pressure and inconsistent supply. The main areas impacted include Upper Nagatugatu, Tacirua, and various lower regions stretching from Lami to Panoramic. Specifically, the neighborhoods experiencing these water disruptions are:

– **Tamavua Reservoir Zone**: Includes Namadi Heights, Princes Road, Rewa Street, Ratu Sukuna Road, Nailuva Road, Delainavesi, Panoramic, Waiqanake, and Togalevu.
– **Nagatugatu Reservoir Zone**: Covers Wrong Turn, Sakoca, Upper Khalsa Road, Tacirua Heights, and properties close to the Nagatugatu Reservoir.
– **Tacirua Reservoir Zone**: Consists of Tamavua Koro, Upper Ragg Avenue, Deovji Street, Tacirua Bus Garage, Amputch Street, LDS, Twomey Hospital, and Bel Air Road.
– **Dokanaisuva Reservoir Zone**: Encompasses areas from the Seventh Day Church at Dokanaisuva to Tacirua Fijian School and Vunileba Settlement.

In response to this issue, WAF is managing valve operations strategically to assure that critical areas continue to receive a water supply. They are also mobilizing water carting services to assist the most affected communities, prioritizing schools, healthcare facilities, and other essential services.

WAF teams are working diligently around the clock to resolve the mechanical issues at the pump station, with hopes of restoring full inflow by midday today. Following the resolution of these issues, efforts will then focus on stabilizing water production and replenishing the reservoir levels throughout the impacted network.

This water supply challenge serves as a reminder of the necessity for community collaboration and preparedness. Residents are advised to store sufficient water for essential purposes and to minimize non-essential usage during this period. While these setbacks are difficult, the dedication of WAF combined with community resilience demonstrates a collective effort to overcome such disruptions, with optimism for improved water services soon on the horizon.
