Fijians are encouraged to upgrade their eTransport cards by July 15, per an announcement from Vodafone Fiji. The company stated that this extension provides customers with additional time to make the necessary updates to their cards.
Vodafone emphasized the importance of not waiting until the last minute to complete the upgrades. Customers can visit local Vodafone Retail stores, Valuefone outlets, Mr. Mobile, Chicken Express, or authorized agents, ensuring they bring the required identification for the process.
This update comes amid a broader initiative by Vodafone Fiji to enhance the user experience of the eTransport card system. Previous reports have indicated that Vodafone is also addressing various customer concerns related to the new system, such as the functionality of top-ups, redemption issues, and service accessibility. Improvements being made include the establishment of over 1,000 top-up points across the nation and the integration of Vodafone’s M-PAiSA mobile wallet for added convenience.
As part of its commitment to improving public transport, Vodafone has reassured customers that the first card registration and early replacements will be free of charge, with modest fees coming into play for subsequent replacements.
In light of these changes, there is optimism that the enhanced eTransport card system will lead to a more efficient and user-friendly public transport experience for all Fijians. Continued collaboration between Vodafone and government officials aims to ensure a smooth transition for users and build a more reliable infrastructure for public transportation in Fiji.
