A tragic accident occurred in Naduna, Labasa on Monday night, resulting in the death of 16-year-old Shalvin Lal from Tuatua, Labasa. Shalvin had left his home around 12:30 PM to collect a relative.
Reports suggest that while driving, he was speeding, lost control of the vehicle, and veered off the road, ultimately colliding with a culvert. He was discovered by the relative he intended to pick up, unfortunately, it was too late as he is believed to have died at the scene.
Acting Divisional Police Commander North, Superintendent Eroni Soqosoqo, confirmed the details of the incident, stating that investigations are currently underway. The post-mortem examination is anticipated to take place today.
