Three individuals were apprehended yesterday during separate police operations in Lautoka and Nadi for drug-related offenses.
In Lautoka, a 26-year-old mechanic from Sabeto Central and a 32-year-old man from Duna Place were intercepted by the Police K-9 Unit along Waiyavi. Upon searching their vehicle, officers found two clear plastic bags containing a white substance believed to be methamphetamine.
In a different operation, a Public Service Vehicle driver from Cunningham was arrested after police discovered marijuana seedlings in his possession. Following this, the Fiji Dog Detector Unit and the Police K-9 Unit conducted a raid at his residence, where they uncovered additional seedlings that are also thought to be marijuana.
The three suspects are currently in police custody while investigations are ongoing.
This incident highlights the ongoing efforts of law enforcement agencies to curb drug-related activities in the region. While the situation is serious, it underscores the importance of police presence and community vigilance in maintaining safety.
