Suva Grammar School’s Under-18 rugby team approaches the third round of the Vodafone Deans Southern Zone competition with a renewed sense of determination, having experienced both highs and lows in their opening matches. The team’s mixed results in the initial rounds have highlighted both strengths and areas needing improvement for a serious challenge for a spot in the national finals.

Principal Iosefo Masivue emphasized the importance of the early matches as a vital learning experience for the players and coaching staff. Reflecting on their performance, Masivue stated, “We just need to improve on the processes that we are following…and to move forward from here.” He believes that understanding their current gameplay will enable them to accelerate their development in the upcoming matches.

Suva Grammar School is set to face Marist Brothers High School this Saturday at 12:50 PM at Thompson Park in Navua, which will be a crucial game for their ambitions in the competition. This match comes on the heels of a victory against CMF College, where the team secured a 29-11 win, reinforcing their will to progress. The school community remains optimistic, encouraging the players to leverage their experiences to bolster performance as they strive for excellence on the rugby field.

Masivue also highlighted the importance of support from the school’s community, rallying behind the team as they aim for success in the competition.
