Two individuals have been remanded at the Suva Remand Centre following their arrest for the alleged robbery of the Alison Supermarket in Laucala Beach on Monday. Sosiveta Raura, 51, and Leone Lesumailepanoni, 43, face four counts of robbery and appeared before Resident Magistrate Charles Ratakele, who has now referred the case to the High Court in Suva for further proceedings.

During the court session, it was confirmed that both accused understood the charges against them. The first phase of disclosures has been served, and they have expressed intentions to engage private legal counsel. The next court date has been set for the following Thursday.

In related developments, police have concluded their questioning of a third suspect, who has since been released. Authorities indicated that the accused were armed with cane knives during the robbery and fled the scene with stolen money and goods, using a taxi that was located in Tacirua Heights shortly after the incident.

This case underscores the commitment of law enforcement to swiftly address criminal activities and uphold public safety. The judicial process is in motion, and it will be crucial to observe how the legal proceedings unfold in the coming weeks, potentially leading to justice served for the affected parties.
