Students Score Big in Clean-Up Initiative After Thrilling Rugby Match

Students from the Lautoka School for Special Education took part in a meaningful initiative following the recent Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific doubleheader in Lautoka. In collaboration with Social Innovation Fiji, these dedicated students organized a clean-up of the park after the match, showcasing their commitment to environmental preservation.

The students sorted through the collected waste, categorizing items such as cans and plastic bottles, which perfectly aligns with the school’s emphasis on the 3Rs—Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle. Their efforts not only reinforced their environmental education but also provided valuable practical experience.

Thanks to Swire Shipping’s generous initiative, the students were able to attend the exciting Fijian Drua match free of charge. Attending live sports events can be particularly challenging for children with disabilities, but in the supportive presence of their classmates, they delighted in the spirited stadium atmosphere. Their chants and cheers were especially vibrant as the Drua mounted an impressive comeback during the match.
