Weather Update
Issued from the National Weather Forecasting Centre Nadi at 3:30pm on Tuesday, June 24, 2025. Buckle up folks, it’s going to be a wild ride!
First off, if you’re in the Northern Lau Group, keep your hat on tight because a gale warning is still shaking up the area. You might want to hold onto your snacks too – it’s breezy out there! Check the Special Weather Bulletin on Heavy Rain for all the juicy details—you know, just in case you want to be as informed as a weather wizard.
Now, let’s glide down to the southeastern coastal areas of Viti Levu, from Sigatoka to Rakiraki, and all points in between including Beqa, Vatulele, and Kadavu. We’ve got a strong wind warning that’s practically sending the palm trees into a twerking competition! Keep those windbreakers handy and avoid any spontaneous kite-flying.
As for rain, well, grab your rubber duckies because a heavy rain warning is in effect! The interior and southeastern parts of Viti Levu, along with the lovely Yasawa Islands and many other scenic spots, will experience a wet and wild show. Make sure your umbrellas are in tip-top shape; they might just become your best friend.
Forecast until midnight tomorrow: It’s best to stay indoors unless you fancy a refreshing shower—courtesy of Mother Nature. And the same goes for Thursday’s outlook, which teeters on the edge of “a few showers” that could leave you feeling like you’ve just stepped out of a washing machine.
Focusing in on specific regions:
– For Navua/Suva/Nausori, don’t forget your lifebuoy (just kidding, don’t need to bring that), but stay alert for those heavy raindrops!
– Nadi/Lautoka/Ba should also brace for drizzles that may feel like a gentle waterfall—great if you’re looking to delay laundry day.
– Tavua/Rakiraki, Natadradave/Korovou, Yasawa/Mamanuca group, Labasa, Savusavu, Lau, Lomaiviti, and yes, even the lovely Kadavu, it seems like everyone is getting invited to this rain party.
And speaking of parties, Rotuma is experiencing a strong wind warning too, along with showers that may turn into a little water dance-off and isolated thunderstorms.
So long story short, check those weather alerts and keep your rain gear close. It’s going to be a splashy week!
