Rewa FC has embarked on its journey to Honiara, Solomon Islands, where they will compete in the OFC Men’s Champions League this weekend. The team, led by Coach Rodeck Singh, is eager to improve on its performance from last year, where they narrowly lost 4-2 in the semifinals to AS Pirae.

Despite facing a setback with three player registrations disapproved by the OFC—defender Samuela Kautoga, winger James Hoyt, and newly signed goalkeeper James Do’oro—Singh remains optimistic. He views this as an opportunity for other players to step up and demonstrate their abilities on a prominent stage. “Yes, it is a setback. We have lost some key players, but this is also an opportunity for other players in the squad to take responsibility and do their best in Honiara,” Singh stated.

Furthermore, six Rewa players, who recently represented the Fiji national team, have rejoined the squad, adding valuable experience and skills at a crucial time. The Delta Tigers will face off against AS Tiga Sport in their opening match on Sunday at 1 PM.

The competition in the OFC Champions League promises to be fierce, especially as Rewa aims to not only build on their previous experience but also to potentially create history for Fijian football. This tournament is not just about competition; it’s an opportunity for Rewa to inspire future generations and continue establishing their presence in Oceania football.

With a determined mindset and strong support from their fans, Rewa FC is poised to face the challenges ahead with resilience and ambition. This could be a thrilling season for the Delta Tigers, as they strive to achieve success on international turf.
