The Director of Public Prosecutions, Christopher Pryde, has expressed his eagerness to return to his office following a Tribunal report that cleared him of any wrongdoing. In his statement, Mr. Pryde mentioned looking forward to reconnecting with his staff and collaborating with the new Police Commissioner to strengthen the relationship between the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) and law enforcement.

The Tribunal’s report, released yesterday, unanimously confirmed that the allegations against Mr. Pryde were not substantiated, advising that he should not be removed from his position. Following the report, President Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu communicated with Mr. Pryde, officially lifting the suspension that had been placed on him since 13 April 2023.

This news marks a positive development not only for Mr. Pryde but also for the ODPP, as it paves the way for renewed focus and cooperation within the justice system. The reinstatement signifies a commitment to transparency and upholding the integrity of the office, which ultimately benefits the community it serves.

In summary, Christopher Pryde is set to return to his role as Director of Public Prosecutions after being exonerated by a Tribunal, reflecting a strong commitment to moving forward positively within the justice sector.
