Police have revealed that the late Police Constable Peniasi Ravagi was actively involved in drug raids in Delainavesi shortly before his death. At a recent press conference, Police Commissioner Rusiate Tudravu provided details about the operations, which included raids on three homes as part of an anti-drug initiative.

Commissioner Tudravu emphasized that there have been no formal complaints lodged against any officers from the Lami Police Station regarding these raids. He confirmed that while Constable Ravagi participated in the operation, there is currently no evidence linking his death to the events that took place in Delainavesi.

Investigators are diligently working to establish whether any threats were made against Ravagi, given the nature of his work. The Commissioner noted that uncovering such threats could potentially shed light on the circumstances surrounding his tragic death.

In response to inquiries about the support available for officers involved in high-risk operations who may face threats, Commissioner Tudravu assured that the police force has internal mechanisms in place. He mentioned that a specialized technical unit, as well as the Police Mobile Force, are available to assist frontline officers during such dangerous assignments. As investigations into Constable Ravagi’s death continue, operational teams remain committed to their work ensuring officers are supported in their duties.

The ongoing investigation into this case reflects the dedication of the police force to maintain safety within the community and provide the necessary protection for its officers.
