South Island United FC coach Rob Sherman looks forward to an exhilarating clash against Extra Bula FC in their second match of the OFC Professional League today. Sherman has opted to maintain the same starting eleven, as the team faces no injuries and all players are available for selection.

The squad is motivated to build on their previous performance, ready to take on Extra Bula FC with enthusiasm. Despite managing a tight schedule and limited recovery time, the team held a training session yesterday aimed at preserving their intensity and readiness for the game.

“We managed to squeeze in some training time yesterday, and it’s all about managing the intensity during the match,” Sherman remarked. “Having analyzed Extra Bula’s recent game against Vanuatu, we have identified several factors that make us confident going into today’s match.”

Reflecting on their previous encounter, which proved to be a tough challenge, Sherman is optimistic about the lessons learned. “Our first game was difficult, but given it was our debut together, we focused on the positives and noted areas where we can improve,” he said.

The anticipation of facing the Fijian side adds an exciting dynamic to the upcoming match. Sherman emphasized the team’s determination to deliver their best performance. “Playing against a Fijian team is going to be thrilling, and we are committed to giving our all on the field. The boys know that the Fijian players will expect a challenge, making it an exciting day of football.”

The match is scheduled to kick off at 2 PM today at North Harbour Stadium in New Zealand. Currently, South Island United FC holds the 8th position in the league standings after the first match of round one. The team is determined to improve their ranking as they step onto the pitch with hope and high spirits today.
