The Organisation of African, Caribbean and Pacific States (OACPS) is set to convene its 120th Session of the Council of Ministers from December 12 to 14, 2025, in Brussels. This key meeting will be presided over by Peter Shanel Agovaka, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and External Trade of Solomon Islands. It will bring together leaders from 79 member states to engage in discussions centered on ongoing institutional and financial reforms, as well as to prioritize essential policy issues.
During the session, the council will assess the current implementation status of the Samoa Agreement, aiming to establish a path forward for its objectives. The event will also feature addresses from significant strategic partners, including representatives from Indonesia, UN Under Secretary General and UNFPA Executive Director Diene Kieta, and Theodora Gentzis, who serves as the Secretary-General and President of the Board of Directors of the Belgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Furthermore, Moussa Saleh Batraki, the Secretary-General of the OACPS, is expected to deliver an address and present a report focused on the theme “Advancing reform and Renewal agenda of the OACPS.” This session is poised to be a pivotal moment for the organization as it seeks to enhance cooperation and development among its member states in a rapidly evolving global landscape.
The forthcoming gathering represents a proactive step toward reforming and renewing the objectives of the OACPS, reflecting a commitment to collaboration and progress within the community of African, Caribbean, and Pacific nations.
