A new 30-seater catamaran, named Gosal Cruisers, is set to be launched at the Grand Eastern Hotel in Labasa, aimed at enhancing tourism and commerce on Vanua Levu, Fiji’s second-largest island. The vessel, which recently arrived from China, is a pioneering addition to the area and is owned by Charan Jeath Singh, a prominent business leader and Fiji’s Sugar Minister.
Mr. Singh expressed his excitement about the launch, which is scheduled for December 20, just in time for the festive season. He emphasized the positive impact this initiative will have on the local community by creating opportunities for residents to sell food and showcase their cultural heritage, ultimately supporting their livelihoods.
The $1 million catamaran will operate as a day cruise service, departing daily at 9:30 AM from the hotel jetty. It will offer guests sightseeing and cultural experiences surrounding popular destinations like Kia, Mali, Druadrua, Vorovoro, Savusavu, and other nearby islands. With a cruising speed of approximately 35 knots and a crew capacity of three, Gosal Cruisers promises to deliver a unique and enjoyable experience for visitors to the region.
