Netball Fiji has announced that discussions regarding the proposed Pacific Series with Netball New Zealand will continue.

President Ruby Ann Sorovaki revealed that they have requested Netball NZ to reconsider the timing of the series, suggesting a potential postponement to a later date. The focus remains on ensuring adequate funding and proper team preparations for the event.

Sorovaki emphasized the importance of being thoroughly ready to meet the expectations associated with the series. Netball NZ had initially proposed holding the series in January 2025, replacing the annual competition with England and Australia.

This ongoing dialogue reflects Netball Fiji’s commitment to delivering a high-quality series, prioritizing both the athletes’ readiness and the logistical support necessary for a successful event.

In summary, while challenges remain in organizing the series, the proactive approach taken by Netball Fiji shows promise for future collaboration and success in Pacific netball. Such discussions lay the groundwork for a robust competition that could enhance the sport’s profile in the region.
