The MHCC Complex in Suva marked its 17th anniversary today, celebrating a milestone as a pioneering shopping destination in Fiji. According to Kunaseelan Sabaratnam, Director of Carpenters Finance, the complex has been a unique one-stop shop, housing a diverse range of services from supermarkets to fashion outlets since it opened its doors.

Sabaratnam highlighted the importance of the complex for small and medium enterprises (SMEs), providing them with a platform to grow. He noted, “We have always supported MSMEs,” pointing out that the presence of small pushcart businesses allows budding entrepreneurs to enter the market, even if they cannot afford a traditional retail space.

The Director also announced exciting developments for the complex, including renovations and the addition of a new tower, which is expected to be completed by March. This evolution aims to attract even more visitors to the complex and enhance the shopping experience.

Since its inception in 2007, MHCC has not only met customer needs but has also contributed to the local economy by providing jobs to Fijians.

Overall, the anniversary is not just a celebration of past achievements but a promising look toward the future of retail and entrepreneurship in Fiji.

This blend of support for local businesses and plans for expansion reflects a hopeful outlook for the community, ensuring that MHCC remains a vibrant hub for Fijians in the years to come.
