Logamaisino Baules, the son of the President of the Palau Senate, Hokkons Baules, has admitted guilt to a charge of overstaying his visitor’s permit by seven days. This development came during a court appearance where he was joined by several other co-defendants, including Josua Ravula, Yu Yang Fang, Minghui Dai, Zhou Lan, and Peniasi Ganilau Delai and Ginna Choi, before Senior Magistrate Sufia Hamza.
Mr. Baules pleaded guilty to the charge of being a prohibited immigrant under the Immigration Act of 2003, specifically for not adhering to the conditions of his visitor’s visa during his stay in Fiji. The alleged offense occurred between September 3 and September 16, 2025, in Suva, where he remained unlawfully present after his permit expired.
Additionally, Baules faces a separate charge concerning illicit drug possession along with his co-defendants, which adds another layer to the legal issues they are currently facing. All seven individuals involved are still in custody, as the court has scheduled their next hearing for February 27, where a summary of facts will be presented.
This situation not only highlights the challenges of immigration compliance but also underscores the importance of adhering to local laws while traveling. As the case unfolds, it will be essential to observe how the legal proceedings progress and what implications they may have for all involved parties.
