Lautoka FC’s Bold Moves: Can New Signings Spark a League Turnaround?

Lautoka FC has taken significant steps to enhance its squad ahead of the conclusion of the season, announcing three key signings aimed at improving their league performance. The club has secured the services of Gulam Razool, a former player for Ba FC; Mohammad Shazil, who has previously played for Lautoka FC; and Andrew Naiker, a former Nadi FC player. Lautoka FA president Shalendra Prasad confirmed these acquisitions following the club’s Annual General Meeting, acknowledging the team’s struggles in the league standings.

Currently positioned ninth in the league with just three points, Lautoka is keen to turn its fortunes around in the remaining two matches, with an immediate focus on their upcoming game against Nadi, scheduled for Sunday at 3 PM at Churchill Park. Additionally, Darold Kakasi, a former Ba representative, has been granted clearance to join Lautoka, pending finalization of his contract and work schedule. The club is also pursuing the release of Samuela Drudru’s International Transfer Certificate (ITC) to further bolster their roster.

In related news, players from Lautoka and Rewa are making headlines for their selection in the 26-member Digicel Bula Boys squad for the upcoming FIFA International “A” Friendlies Tri-Nations Series. Both clubs have equally contributed six players, reflecting their robust presence in national representation.

As the league continues to unfold, supporters are hopeful that Lautoka’s recent signings will yield positive results, with exciting matches anticipated in the weeks to come. The competitive nature of the Extra Premier League points to a season filled with potential for all teams involved.
