Extra Bula FC winger Kaile Auvray is determined to contribute more scoring opportunities for his team as they prepare for their second match in the OFC Pro League. As Bula FC seeks its first win this season, the 21-year-old recognizes the critical expectations placed on him to help achieve that goal. “I think my role is more or less the same in every match, regardless of when the game is or who we’re playing. I’m a winger, so my job is to bring impact, deliver the ball in front of goal, take shots, and contribute defensively,” he explained. Auvray sees himself as a creative player tasked with generating opportunities, whether for himself or for teammates like Roy Krishna and Micah Dau.
Having a dynamic playing style, Auvray is no stranger to competitive football, having previously represented the United States under-17 team and the Saint Martin national team, before eventually deciding to play for Trinidad and Tobago. He then followed in his father’s footsteps by moving to Fiji to join Bula FC.
Bula FC’s upcoming match against South Island United promises to be an intense midfield battle, as both teams feature talented players in this crucial area. Setareki Hughes, a midfielder and former captain of Rewa FC, is set to play a significant role alongside captain Roy Krishna and Maikah Dau as they look to break down New Zealand’s defenses.
Hughes emphasized the importance of maintaining focus and teamwork, stating, “The most important thing for me is to be myself, play my own game, and support the team. We’re facing a strong side, so it will be a good test for us. But at the end of the day, we know everyone will give everything they have to secure that win.”
Ranked fourth after the opening round, Bula FC will clash with eighth-placed South Island United at 2 PM at Eden Park in Auckland, New Zealand. The anticipation for the match is high, and with Auvray’s energy and creativity on display, fans are hopeful for a successful outcome.
