Kavitesh Prasad and Zoheer Ahmed emerged victorious at the Dinesh Chand Invitational Golf Tournament held at the Denarau Golf and Racquet Club on Sunday, showcasing their exceptional skills amidst challenging weather conditions. Prasad took home the title in the amateur division, while Ahmed clinched victory in the professional category. The tournament drew a significant crowd, with 120 golfers competing across various divisions, including juniors, ladies, amateurs, and professionals.

Play was interrupted several times due to heavy rain, but the competitors displayed remarkable patience and determination, ultimately completing the event successfully. Dinesh Chand, a revered professional golfer based in Japan and the tournament’s sponsor, expressed his satisfaction with the turnout despite the inclement weather. “The rain made things difficult, but the players showed great patience and determination. It’s always special to come home and see how golf is growing in Fiji. I hope to keep building this tournament bigger each year,” Chand noted.
