The Boxing Commission of Fiji (BCF) has made a notable advancement by introducing a competition Record Book, known as the “Blue Book,” which will serve as an essential record-keeping tool for professional boxers in Fiji. Adi Narayan, the chairman of BCF, announced this initiative on Tuesday, revealing that the book, which is published in Australia, will encompass both the competition and medical records of all boxers affiliated with the commission.

The introduction of the Blue Book is significant as it will become mandatory for all BCF members. Narayan emphasized the importance of this tool, stating, “Without the Book, boxers will not be allowed to participate in any of our events from now on.” This measure aims to enhance the safety and monitoring of boxers within the sport.

Additionally, Narayan reminded both boxers and trainers about the necessity of maintaining current licenses, further establishing BCF’s commitment to the welfare and organization of boxing in Fiji. This development aligns with the BCF’s ongoing efforts to provide equal opportunities within the sport, as previously highlighted during events such as the recent launch of the Bluewater Boxing Promotions, where Narayan emphasized inclusivity and fairness in competition.

This proactive approach not only aims to improve the standards of boxing in Fiji but also instills a sense of accountability among athletes, fostering a culture that prioritizes their health and performance. By ensuring that boxers have their records up to date, the BCF is taking a commendable step towards promoting a safer and more organized boxing community in Fiji.

With the Blue Book’s implementation, there is a hopeful outlook for the future of boxing in Fiji, encouraging the growth of emerging talents while providing a structured framework for professional conduct within the sport.
