ASCO Motors Fiji has announced two senior management changes, appointing Ajitesh Prasad as general manager Sales and Marketing and naming Priscilla Singh as company secretary, with both appointments taking effect from April 1, 2024.

Mr Prasad moves into the sales and marketing portfolio after serving as general manager Corporate Services and company secretary at ASCO Motors. In his previous role he was credited with strengthening corporate governance and improving organisational effectiveness. In the new position he will lead the company’s sales and marketing function and be responsible for sales performance, marketing activities, product performance and customer engagement.

The ASCO Motors board formally acknowledged Mr Prasad’s contributions in his former roles and said it looked forward to his continued leadership and support in driving the company’s commercial objectives. His appointment shifts him from a predominantly corporate governance focus into a front-line commercial role where he will oversee strategies to lift sales and refine customer-facing operations.

Ms Singh, currently manager Legal at ASCO Motors, will assume the company secretary role in addition to her existing responsibilities. She holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Professional Diploma in Legal Practice from the University of the South Pacific and brings more than a decade of legal experience spanning public sector and private practice. Before joining ASCO Motors she served in Fiji’s Office of the Attorney-General from 2017 to 2023, including as principal legal officer where she provided legal and policy advice, handled litigation matters, negotiated commercial projects and transactions, and drafted and reviewed contracts and legislation.

Her earlier legal career also includes time in private practice as a solicitor with Lateef & Lateef Lawyers and M.A. Khan Esquires. By taking on the company secretary duties while retaining her managerial legal role, Ms Singh is positioned to maintain continuity in ASCO’s legal and governance functions during the transition.

Taken together, the appointments represent an internal reshuffle intended to leverage in-house experience: Mr Prasad’s move to a commercial leadership role follows his stewardship of corporate services, while Ms Singh’s elevation fills the company secretary vacancy created by his transition. Both changes are effective from April 1, 2024.
