Marist Brothers High School and Suva Grammar School claimed top honors at the Suva Zone Two athletics competition, which concluded yesterday at HFC Bank Stadium in Suva. The event, held over two days, showcased fierce competition, with Marist achieving a remarkable total of 74 medals in the boys’ division—31 gold, 23 silver, and 20 bronze.
Suva Grammar School trailed closely behind, securing second place in the boys’ category with a tally of 17 gold, 18 silver, and 14 bronze medals. Jai Narayan College followed in third, gathering two gold, one silver, and six bronze medals. Meanwhile, in the girls’ division, Suva Grammar School stood out by winning an impressive 29 gold medals, along with 17 silver and 14 bronze, contributing to an overall medal count of 60.
Saint Joseph’s Secondary School also made a strong impression in the girls’ category, finishing second with 15 gold, 19 silver, and 16 bronze medals. Nuku Secondary School rounded out the top three, earning two gold, five silver, and two bronze medals.
A highlight of the event was the lighting of the official games torch for the 2025 Fiji Finals, generating excitement for the upcoming competitions.
