The Fijiana 7s team currently ranks 11th in the HSBC SVNS Series standings following the first leg of the circuit. Under the guidance of Timoci Volavola, the team has introduced nine debutants, who faced a challenging start over the past two weeks. Nevertheless, this experience is invaluable for their development.

The Fijiana squad finished in last place at the Dubai 7s but showed significant improvement the following week by securing a 10th-place finish in Cape Town. With a total of four points, they maintain their position above Spain, which sits at 12th in the Women’s World SVNS Series points table.

New Zealand leads the standings with 36 points, having earned a silver medal in Dubai and a gold in Cape Town. Australia follows closely in second with 34 points, while France holds third place with a tally of 32 points from two bronze medals.

This progression for the Fijiana team, especially given the inclusion of so many new players, indicates a bright future ahead. As they gain more experience, their performance is likely to improve in upcoming tournaments, and with perseverance, they can move up the rankings.

Overall, while the initial results may not reflect their potential, the Fijiana 7s team has shown resilience and the capability to learn and grow, setting the stage for a promising season ahead.
