Weather Update:
Issued by the National Weather Forecasting Centre in Nadi at 1:05pm on Tuesday, July 1, 2025.
So, here’s the scoop for the delightful island paradise we call Fiji, at least until midnight tomorrow. Expect a bit of gloom with cloudy spells and the occasional splash of showers in areas like Serua-Namosi, Navua-Suva-Nausori, Tailevu-Naitasiri-Ra, Southern Bua, Cakaudrove, Kadavu, Taveuni, Lau, and Lomaiviti. It’s like a surprise party, but instead of cake, it might rain!
Meanwhile, the rest of you lucky folks out there will bask in mainly fine weather. Lucky you! Nights will be cool enough for some cuddling, but not too cold—leave the igloo gear at home, thank you very much.
Sailors and sea lovers, listen up! Moderate to fresh east to southeast winds will accompany moderate to rough seas—so hold onto your hats (or your surfboards, if that’s more your style)!
Looking ahead to Thursday: The southeast winds will ramp up to a breezy 45km/hr in the Lau and Lomaiviti group, Kadavu, Taveuni, Yasawa, and the coastal areas of Rakiraki—if you’re walking around, expect some hair-blowing moments. Everywhere else should generally enjoy moderate to fresh winds, with a few gusts thrown in for dramatic effect.
For our friends in Navua / Suva / Nausori: Cloudy periods and a little rain will be your companions, with cool nights that are perfect for stargazing—if clouds allow it!
If you’re hanging out in Nadi / Lautoka / Ba, consider yourselves lucky—stay mainly fine with those cool nights to help you sleep.
At Coral Coast/Sigatoka: Get ready for a little rain dance with clouds but don’t worry, cool nights will still greet you.
Tavua/Rakiraki folks, expect some precipitation over Rakiraki while Tavua remains sunny and mostly fine.
For Natadradave/Korovou: Clouds and showers will keep things interesting, so maybe have an umbrella handy?
Over in Yasawa/Mamanuca group: Let the sun reign—mainly fine weather with cool evenings.
Labasa? Just enjoy that fine weather while you can. Cool nights are a bonus!
Savusavu, you’ll face cloudy periods with some rain showers, so water your plants accordingly!
And finally, for the Lau and Lomaiviti group, Savusavu, and Kadavu, get ready for cloudy conditions with a side of rain. And don’t forget the cool nights!
On Rotuma, there’s a STRONG WIND WARNING. This is serious business! An east to southeast wind flow is making its presence known; grab your windbreakers because winds are brisk at 20 to 25 knots. Prepare for rough seas, occasional showers, and perhaps some thunderstorms—nature’s way of keeping things lively!
So there you have it—a mix of sun and showers, with some cool nights and gusty winds for a spicy blend. Time to keep those umbrellas handy and enjoy the show!
