Situation: A weak trough of low pressure sits over the western parts of the country, bringing cloud and showers that could tag along for most of today. A south to southeast wind flow is expected to dominate Fiji’s weather from later today.

Forecast to midnight tomorrow for the Fiji group:

Today:
Cloudy periods with some showers and isolated heavy falls over most places. Showers gradually easing by later today. Localised heavy falls may lead to flash flooding of low-lying areas. Cool at night. Moderate to fresh southwest to northwest winds, becoming south to southeast from later today. Moderate to rough seas.

Tomorrow:
Cloudy periods with brief showers over Sigatoka-Korolevu, Navua-Suva-Nausori, Tailevu-Naitasiri-Ra, Southern Bua, Cakaudrove, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands, Lau and Lomaiviti groups. Fine apart from isolated afternoon or evening showers elsewhere. Cool at night. Moderate southeast winds. Moderate seas.

Outlook for Saturday: Cloudy periods with some showers over Sigatoka-Korolevu, Navua-Suva-Nausori, Tailevu-Naitasiri-Ra, Southern Bua, Cakaudrove, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands, Lau and Lomaiviti groups. Mainly fine elsewhere. Cool at night.
