We interrupt your regularly scheduled programming for a weather update that’ll make you laugh and think twice about your umbrella choices!

Issued from the National Weather Forecasting Centre in Nadi at 10:45am on the fabulous Friday, December 26, 2025, we’ve got a quirky situation brewing. A weak little trough of low pressure is hanging around to the north, and it seems to have a knack for sending clouds and showers down our way! Don’t worry; it’s just a short visit—it’s expected to shower our Northern and Eastern divisions from tomorrow and linger like a clingy relative for the next few days. Meanwhile, a refreshing east to southeast wind flow is making its rounds like the town gossip.

Here’s your forecast until midnight tomorrow for the fabulous Fiji group:

**Today:** Expect those clouds to cuddle up with some showers—especially in Serua-Namosi, Navua-Suva-Nausori, Tailevu-Naitasiri-Ra, Eastern Macuata, Southern Bua, Cakaudrove, Taveuni, and the nearby smaller islands, Lau and Lomaiviti groups, Kadavu, and its tiny friends. Isolated heavy rainfall and a potential thunderstorm want to come along for the ride too! If you’re outside elsewhere, enjoy the fine weather—but don’t get too cozy, as there may be a surprise shower or two in the afternoon or evening. East to southeast winds are pretty fresh, especially during those little heavy downpours. Oh, and don’t forget, our seas are feeling a bit frisky, so moderate to rough seas ahead!

**Tomorrow:** The occasional showers and those sneaky isolated thunderstorms will be back to visit. They’ll be especially chatty over Serua-Namosi, Navua-Suva-Nausori, Tailevu-Naitasiri-Ra, Eastern Macuata, Southern Bua, Cakaudrove, Taveuni, and the nearby smaller islands, Lau and Lomaiviti groups. Expect more of that heavy rainfall too! Meanwhile, elsewhere, you’ll find it fine… right until the afternoon or evening when those showers re-appear to throw their party. The winds will turn up the heat a notch, blowing moderate to fresh – so hold onto your hats during those thunderous moments! And yes, the seas? Still on the rough side!

**Looking ahead to Sunday:** More occasional showers and a few thunderstorms will join us over our favorite regions. Isolated heavy falls will keep us on our toes. Elsewhere, expect partly cloudy skies with those typical afternoon or evening showers making their cameo. The northeast to easterly winds will be moderately fresh, and guess what? Our seas remain moderate to rough!

Here’s a quick rundown for the towns you’ve all been awaiting:
