Weather Update
Greetings from the National Weather Forecasting Centre Nadi! It’s Thursday morning, and it seems Mother Nature decided to pull a few tricks on us. We’ve got a trough of low pressure hanging out to the southwest of Fiji, slowly heading west. Meanwhile, another cautious trough is taking its sweet time over Fiji, bringing clouds and showers along for the ride.
So what’s the weather forecast looking like today? Well, brace yourselves for a day of occasional showers, with the possibility of isolated heavy falls and even some thunder to keep things lively. This wet and wild weather is particularly aimed at our friends in Navua, Suva, Nausori, Tailevu, Naitasiri, Ra-Rakiraki, Tavua, Cakaudrove, Southern Bua, Taveuni, the Lomaiviti Islands, Lau, Kadavu, Yasawa, and the Mamanucas. In other words, if you live in those areas, grab your umbrella and possibly a boat, just in case!
For the rest of us, expect a partly cloudy sky with a chance of afternoon or evening showers and thunderstorms. Don’t forget your raincoat—localised heavy falls could lead to some flash flooding in low-lying areas. So, if you thought your backyard needed a good soaking, you’re in luck! Moderate northeasterly winds will be fluttering about, and seas are likely to be moderately rough—perfect for those who enjoy a bit of adventure!
Now, what’s on the horizon for Friday? The forecast shows cloudy periods throughout the day with some showers making an appearance, particularly over the interior and northeastern parts of the larger islands. So, keep your bathing suits on standby—rain is in the air!

While the rain may seem relentless, just remember it’s all part of Fiji’s charm—without it, our beautiful nature would be parched!
So, keep your spirits high, your umbrellas close, and gear up for another day of interesting weather antics!
