The Fiji National Rugby League has officially appointed Apenisa Dansey as its new chairman following last night’s Board meeting at its headquarters. Dansey emerged victorious after securing the majority of votes in a decision process that also included competitor Rajesh Singh. This significant change comes after the Board expressed a vote of no confidence in former chairman Akuila Masi.

The Board emphasized that the decision was made through a careful and transparent process, reflecting their commitment to ensuring stability and facilitating the ongoing growth of rugby league in Fiji. The appointment of Dansey is expected to usher in a new era of leadership aimed at enhancing the sport’s development within the nation.

To formally announce this transition and discuss future plans, a press conference is scheduled for Tuesday, February 11, at 1pm at the FNRL Headquarters. The media is invited to attend, signaling an openness from the new leadership to communicate their vision to the public.

This leadership change reflects a proactive approach by the Fiji National Rugby League to foster a positive environment for rugby league enthusiasts and stakeholders, promoting a hopeful outlook for the sport’s future in Fiji.
